Sound with Vision is thrilled to unveil the stunning details of our luxurious penthouse project in the heart of Manly, Sydney NSW.
The client asked us to deliver on their sophisticated sound quality needs while considering the architects minimalist design aesthetic.
As a dedicated audio and visual enthusiast, the client wanted to maintain the standard of full range floor standing speakers with a minimal to invisible aesthetic.

Realising an Architect's Vision of Invisibility
Sound with Vision recommended an innovative, invisible approach through our exceptional collaboration with Canohm and Amina. The Amina Mobius i series offers unparalleled adaptability for seamless integration into any interior design, allowing it to be concealed with various materials without compromising on outstanding high-frequency performance throughout the entire listening area.
As an innovative solution, there was reticence but Sound with Vision’s experience with the brand and a demonstration, provided by Sound with Vision’s partner at Canohm Headquarters, gave the client confidence in our recommendation.
Overcoming Challenges On-Site
As part of our installation process, Sound with Vision needed to consider a few important design challenges:
1. The ceiling space was limited, posing a challenge for speaker installation. Aminas innovative design offers a slim profile, surpassing conventional speakers, making it the best solution for such constraints.
2. Curved ceilings presented another challenge, but Aminas unique attachment method ensures a perfect fit without depth compromises, using up to 3mm of plaster for an invisible finish.
3. Ceiling height: Despite the challenges posed by the lower ceiling height, our innovative speaker design delivers exceptional audio coverage by maximising dispersion, ensuring a superior sound experience with the same number of speakers.
A Powerful Combination
Sound with Vision selected the Amina Mobius 5i due to its neutral tone and accurate reproduction across all frequencies and integrated over 13 of the units across the client’s home, complete with back boxes and protection units. They were blended with:
– SONOS and Integra amplification
– LG OLED TVs
– Dynaudio Contour for the front LCR speakers
– Dynaudio subwoofers enhancing the experience throughout
– Unifi networking and RTI controls
Sound with Vision was able to integrate with the building controls to allow our client to manage lights, blinds, climate control, intercom, and even the pool schedule along with the audio visual.

Thoughts from Our Client
Even amongst the final construction phase and the sound of waves crashing across the road at Manly Beach, and with the protection units only set at 20% power, the client and passersby were blown away by the sound quality coming out of the apartment three storeys below. It’s safe to say Sound with Vision far exceeded the client’s expectations of retaining the quality of full range floor standing speakers, without adding any aesthetic challenges to the architect’s vision. The client anticipated having to trade off some sound quality for visual appeal, yet the audio experience surpassed anything he had encountered.
Upon returning for the final installation, Sound with Vision optimised the protection unit’s compression ratio, resulting in an astonishingly rich and resonant sound. It was so powerful that it captivated a passersby three floors below, resonating clearly through open doors and even rising above the oceans sound across the street.
